All of the shots included in our opening sequence were filmed in or around Josh's house. We chose to film in Josh's house as it is very spacious and was easily accessible for us all. We chose to film all of the shots around one location as this allowed for the piece to become more realistic, therefore allowing the audience to become more engaged with the piece.
Locations used:
Garage
We chose to film in the garage as we wanted to create a dark and eerie atmosphere whilst filming the pans of Jasmine's body. We were able to create this atmosphere by adjusting the lighting so that the shots were only very lowly lit, creating a sense of suspicion around the death of Jasmine's character.
Hallway
We chose to film the argument between mine and josh's characters in the hallway of Josh's house. We chose to film here as we felt that it was a very fitting location for an argument to take place. The layout of the hallways also allowed for easy filming, and the placement of the mirror also helped to add some depth to the shots that we wished to capture. We also wished to create a complete comparison between the light shots in the house and the dark in the garage and filming in this area helped us to achieve this.
Garden
We filmed a range of shots in the garden. We filmed the low angle shot of mine and Josh's characters leaving the garage, the close-up of the garage door closing, the 360 shot of Jasmine and also the medium shot of Josh. We chose to film these shots in the garden as it helped to link the shots in the house and in the garage together, allowing the viewer to more easily understand that everything occurred within the same house.
